The RCR Museum - CEF Re-enactment

At the beginning of 2006 the The RCR Museum was approached by a number of individuals in South Western Ontario to see if the Museum might be interested in developing a partnership with a re-enactors group in support of museum programs and publicity. As a result the Museum now has a small, but dedicated group of military history enthusiasts that have begun to drill as a "platoon" of The Royal Canadian Regiment in training during the Great War (1914-1919). Although the aim of the re-enactment group is to have an organization of Platoon strength, it is still growing and in the fall of 2006 the strength was eleven members.

The RCR Museum re-enactors group has formed a chartered not-for-profit organization and will be making applications for funding to the Trillium Foundation to assist with the purchasing of uniforms for the group.

Individuals interested in learning more about The RCR Museum Re-enactment group should contact the Curator of the Museum.
