Birth Certificate

Need help to replace my daughters birth certificate who was born in Germany at the BMH in Iserlohn in 1966, any help on where to start would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Don,

That would be a Registration of Birth Abroad which would probably have been posted on your personnel records at the time of the birth.  It's been a while since I did it but I seem to recall that you can get copies of your records under the Access to Information Act.  Forms used to be available from the post office but you should be able to get more current information from the web and you might be able to file the request on line.  Good luck with your search.  aldi

     My youngest daughter was born in Soest in 1956.I will check with her to see if she has been through a similar situation,if so I will let you know.

      I spoke to my daughter reference your query of your daughter,s German birth certificate.She still has her original as well as her Canadian citizenship card of which we had aquired before our rerturn to Canada in 1957.Sorry I can,t help you on that one but suggest you pursue Aldi,s suggestions.Sorry I couldn,t give you more help but hope it all works out for you.
