Lt Col RM Crowe

Fellow Royals,
I am doing a research project on one of our fallen Regimental brothers- Lt Col RM Crowe, CO The RCR, KIA Nissorio, Sicily 24 July 1943. My long term goal is to produce a small pamphlet/booklet or, at minimum, an article for Pro Patria, on Lt Col Crowe as his story is an important part of Regimental history- he is the only RCR CO to be killed in combat to my knowledge.

I have cross referenced various Regimental history books (Volume 2, Col Horn's book and all of Strome Galloway's books)  I have also read the official history of the Canadian Army in Italy and Operation Husky by Mark Zuekhle.  Also, I have pulled a copy of his war service record from the National Archives- a facinating document with alot of details.

There are some pretty big gaps in his Regimental serivce that I cannot seem to bring together and was wondering if anyone could assist or point me in the right direction.  Specifically, I am looking for:

-Photographs of Lt Col Crowe (that are not found in Regimental history books- I have all of these already)
-Any record of his service in Wazaristan (I know which unit he served with and that he was awarded an MiD but have little else)
-any details of his serivce at the Royal Military College (both as a student and an instructor)
-Any personal antecdotes/stories of people who served with him (leaderhip style, personality, etc)
-Any articles/obituaries written on him in Pro Patria/The Connecting File
-Does the museum have any of his artifacts? (medals, uniforms, photos, etc?)

many thanks
Jason Guiney
