The First World War RSMs of The RCR
« on: July 31, 2011, 07:54:16 PM »
I have added pages to my website on The RCR in the First World War covering the service histories of the RSMs of the Regiment during its service overseas during 1914-1919.

During the First World War, five men held the appointment of R.S.M. of The Royal Canadian Regiment:

    * 4312 Sgt Maj J.S. LEGGE – ?? to Dec 1914
    * 477721 Sgt Maj H. PHILLIPS – Dec 1914 to 19 Mar 1916
    * 477784 Sgt Maj W.R. ROBERTS – 29 Mar 1916 to 6 Sep 1918
    * 477317 RSM J.C. FOY – 6 Sep 1918 to 6 Feb 1919
    * 19249 RSM F.N. CARPENTER – 26 Feb 1919 to 14 Mar 1919

While researching these men, I was able to refine their dates of appointment as RSM. This information has been provided to RHQ for a future update to RSOs.

I think it would be interesting to find the names of RSM's throughout History
