Capt R.G.S (Roy) Lampard - Deceased Sept 16, 2010

Roy Lampard served in 1 RCR in Ipperwash, Gagetown, Fort York and Wolseley Barracks from 1962 to 1966. Roy served at various times as a rifle platoon commander, heavy machine gun platoon commander and asst adjt. He was the platoon commander on the Nijmegan marches for a couple of years in the early 1960's.

Roy went for a bike ride on the morning of Thur, Sept 16 and suffered a massive heart attack.  He is survived by his wife Peggy, two childen, Robin and Scott and a number of grandchildren. Roy was a chemical engineer. After he left the army he worked for Pittsburg Paints, was the saftey officer at the nuclear facility in Pinawa, Manitoba and latterly he worked for John Deere in St Catharines.

I remember Captain Lampard always physically fit and a gentleman. He will be sadly missed. Pro Patria, Hugh Conway

I remember Capt Lampard  well, he was my platoon commander in Fort York in the 60s, we marched together on both Nijmegan marches. He
was a great officer,may he rest in peace.
