Let us share a prayer for our fellow Royal Canadian and his family. May God bless them all.

Good day Sir

I am writing to inform you of the hospitalization and imminent passing of former Pte Bradshaw G.H. service # SA2604 wounded 01 Oct 52 Korea.

He has been admitted to the Norfolk General Hospital in Simcoe Ontario for the last 6 weeks and is now approaching the end of his final battle. As a current member of the Cdn Airforce and former member of the Royal Canadian Artillery I recognize the importance of regimental family and comradeship. I believe that the current members of the RCR regiment would appreciate knowing that another regimental veteran is soon to leave the corps.

He is surrounded by his family, Edith wife of 52 years, sons Garnet and Ed his wife Manuela.

I appreciate your acceptance of this message

Thank You

Ed Bradshaw

Dear Mr. Bradshaw(MCPL) I send prayers to you and your family, I hope your father is not suffering in his final battle.  He is enjoying the feeling of being loved by his family and that will help him make the journey home much easier.  My father was with your dad in Korea in October of 1952, my father was injured on hill 187 on May 29th,1953, my dad was with the paratroopers, and was fighting with the 3rd battalion at the time of his pointer finger getting mortar bitten.  But he usually served with the patricia's in the 1st Battalion.  Your dad fought a wicked war, and that is giving him the strength to make it through his last battle on his way to the most wonderous peace any of us will ever know.  Stand tall and proud, and I send my gratitude to you, your family and especially your dad.  You are going to be fine and strong for your mom and brother, and of course your Manuela, above and beyond the fighting you may incure in your career, your mom and wife have to endure the worry waiting and praying for their men to come home safe and still sound.  They will be as much a hero as your father and you are, in my eyes, I know the life of a soldier and his family.  I loved the fact that I, unlike my school mates, got see Europe with my family. Soest, Baden, where my one and only brother arrived, Holland, Belguim, where I became more that a twinkle in my daddy's eye) Paris, and Garmish, we lived on the beach for two years in Ippperwash, and all over Canada, But we saw little of my father, as he was training men to jump, and was gone alot to the base in Manitoba.  He fought in WW2 as a canloan officer, almost still a boy.  You must be proud to know your Dad wanted you and I to be free, and I thank you and your family for taking the military into your life and respecting the life, I know your father wants you to stay safe, and come home to your family, as they need you now, as it is his turn to take a rest and you and your brother can take over for him, until we all meet again with my mom and Dad, who are awaiting your Dad, with open arms, he will join them to watch over his family, and his regiment.  Once an RCR, always an RCR. and he will still serve with the greatest leader to guide him.  Bless you and your family, in this very difficult time.  Love will help you all through.  Pro Patria  MCpl Bradshaw. Thank you for keeping me, and my children and grandchildren, safer today. Eileen Howard Fralick, WO2 Eric Barton Howard's daughter Hold your dad close in your heart and he will be their always.
