PASSING - CAPTAIN (ret'd) DOUGLAS ARNOLD COCKBURN

The Regiment regrets to inform you of the passing of Captain (ret'd) Douglas Arnold Cockburn

 - Proud Veteran of the Korean Conflict, Retired Captain, Royal Canadian Regiment, Graham Thompson Real Estate - Peacefully, in his sleep, at the Kingston General Hospital on Friday, November 6, 2009. Beloved husband of 56 years to Nora. Loving father of Joanne Browning and her husband Greg of Ottawa, Douglas Cockburn and his wife Louisa of Abbotsford, B.C. and Beverley of Kingston. Proud grandfather of Christopher, Allison, Colin, Shanna and Crystal and great grandfather of Alexi. Predeceased by his brother Ernest Ennis Cockburn (killed in action during World War II) and by his sister Audrey McKinnon. Fondly remembered by his brother-in-law Donald McKinnon, also of Ottawa. Resting at the James Reid Funeral Home, Cataraqui Chapel ( 1900 John Counter Boulevard) on Tuesday evening from 7 - 9. Funeral Wednesday, November 11, 2009 for service in the chapel of the funeral home at 2 pm, The Very Reverend Mary Irwin - Gibson officiating. Interment Cataraqui Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
