As part of an ongoing website project on The RCR in the First World War, I'm seeking gravestone photos of RCR soldiers who are recorded as casualties of the War.  I have taken or received photos of the graves in a number of Canadian cemeteries, but there are others I'm unlikely to get to personally, and so would appreciate any help if anyone is close to the cemeteries listed below.

I don't need a high resolution shot, as I'm posting the photos in a 300-pixel wide format, as shown here.  Even a cell phone photo would be appreciated. For a start point on locating the graves, when the Grave Reference was available from the War Graves Commission, it is included in the tables  found in the individual cemetery pages.

The Canadian cemeteries I'm still looking for photos from follow: List updated 11 Aug 2010.

New Brunswick

Black River Cemetery (2)

Nova Scotia

Bear River (Mount Hope) Cemetery (1)
Lower Wood Harbour (Greenwood) Cemetery (1)

Quebec

Montreal (Mount Royal) Cemetery (1 of 4 remaining to be photographed (and the other three could be improved))

A full list of the cemeteries holding RCR casualties of the First World War can be seen here, and a Google map display here.

Any photos can be sent to me by e-mail at regimentalrogue@gmail.com. Please let me know how you would like your photos attributed when they are posted on line.

I can help you out on Pte Brix in St Catherines, Michael. Will do it tomorrow on my way up to visit Ernie Wetzel, one of our regimental brothers who is recovering from heart surgery. It is right on the way.

Mike and ranrad, thank you.

I have also posted a similar request on the Great War Forum seeking photos of the graves of 33 Royal Canadians in 26 UK cemeteries.  In three days I've received photos from 10 of those cemeteries.

Mike,

I will pick up Ottawa (Notre Dame) Roman Catholic Cemetery the next time I am in Ottawa.  I am heading east after REC/Senate and will do my best to pick up:

Truro (Terrace Hill) Cemetery (1)
West Bay Road Cemetery (1)

I will have to see how far West Bay will be off my path.

I may have someone who can get St John and another for Summerside.

This may be an excellent opportunity to bring other association branches into the quest. And in doing so, provide them a link to here.

Right now I'm just working on the First World War.

Maybe one day I'll start on the Second World War in a similar project.
